Ocean Conservation Commitment

An Ocean Conservation Commitment (OCC) captures the value of the assured conservation costs, and benefits to be leveraged, associated with maintaining a Large Scale Marine Protected Area of the Niue Moana Mahu PA for a period of at least 20 years commencing in 2023. OCC funds will be used to undertake specified activities (as noted in the Brochure) supporting ocean conservation and related long-term resilience and sustainability. OCCs cannot be onsold and do not generate financial returns, but they can be gifted. Each OCC will be permanently and transparently recorded on the sustainable public ledger XRPL.
